I am not sure using a Sun Ray and using a RDP session has the same issues.
I never used an RDP client so I may be wrong. Please correct me.
An RDP thin client terminal is running a Linux or Windows OS. The
local smart card is managed by a local pcscd (in the Linux case).
You then run "rdesktop -r scard" to start an RDP client
using/redirecting the smart card reader local to the thin client.
WIth RDP pcscd and libpcsclite are running on the thin client managing
(typically) one reader
with Sun Ray pcscd and libpcsclite are running on the server. And 1
pcscd is started for each user so the server has a lot of pcscd
running.
Using the NoMachine technology is different since PC/SC connection are
not redirected (only X11 is). The best solution (I think) would be to
add PC/SC support in the NX protocol.
