[Muscle] How CT-API ,PC/SC and CCID driver related

Hi,
   I am very new to this Smart Card world. I am quite confused on hearing
CT-API , PC/SC APIs, CCID drivers etc . How all  these stuffs are related?
Can anyone give a brief introduction to CT-API, PC/SC and CCID drivers with
a simplified architecture of them ?
