Hi,

> Maybe your smart card reader is CCID compliant. Try the procedure at [1].

Unfortunately it does not look like it.

When plugging the reader in under Windows it is identified as a HID device,
and the same when doing it in Ubuntu:

> pcscd: pcscdaemon.c:513:main() pcsc-lite 1.4.99 daemon ready.
> kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 3
> kernel: usb 1-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
> kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev
> kernel: hiddev96hidraw0: USB HID v1.11 Device [OMRON Corporation
V4KU-01JF-001 ] on usb-0000:00:07.2-1
> kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
> kernel: /build/buildd/linux-2.6.24/drivers/hid/usbhid/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB
HID core driver

Then when following your procedure:

> root at kboxdev:/home/kbox/ccid-1.3.8# ./src/parse
> Parsing USB bus/device: 002/001
> idVendor: 0x0000 iManufacturer: Linux 2.6.24-19-server ehci_hcd
> idProduct: 0x0000 iProduct: EHCI Host Controller
> NOT a CCID/ICCD device
> Parsing USB bus/device: 001/003
> idVendor: 0x0590 iManufacturer: OMRON Corporation
> idProduct: 0x0034 iProduct: V4KU-01JF-001
> NOT a CCID/ICCD device
> Parsing USB bus/device: 001/002
> idVendor: 0x0E0F Can't get iManufacturer string
> idProduct: 0x0002 Can't get iProduct string
> NOT a CCID/ICCD device
> Parsing USB bus/device: 001/001
> idVendor: 0x0000 iManufacturer: Linux 2.6.24-19-server uhci_hcd
> idProduct: 0x0000 iProduct: UHCI Host Controller
> NOT a CCID/ICCD device

As I can't even find Windows Drivers I feel the choice of reader is a dead
end.

Ciao, MM
